History
The company Puerto de Cruceros Colón 2000, S.A. starts operations in October 2000 with a terminal, currently corresponds to terminal No. 1, the main objective is to provide services to cruise ships on international trips.
In February 2008 the company expanded and improved the service for cruise ships with the construction of the second terminal, currently corresponds to terminal No 2, better known as the "Home Port" of cruises, thus providing the opportunity of making cruises on the Caribbean to passengers from Latin America. The "Home port" of cruise ships began operations on December 8, 2008 with the departure of the cruise "Enchantment of the Seas" of the Royal Caribbean International company.
The Port of Cruceros Colón 2000, S.A. and Plaza Colón 2000 is built on an area of approximately 70,000 m2, has; two terminals of 100 and 200 meters long, parking lots, a departure lounge for passengers, "Duty free" stores, and an area for cargo handling in general.
As of May 2016, the dock area destined for commercial boats starts operating, with 12 spaces for boats up to 60 feet in length.
